Toulouse win fifth consecutive game

Toulouse jumped into third place after coming back from two sets to one down to beat Cambrai 3-2 (25-20, 22-25, 15-25, 25-20, 15-7) in the French Ligue A division.

It was the Spacer’s fifth straight victory in Ligue A Nationale Volley (LNV) and their third successive 3-2 win. They now have 11 points from six games – three points behind Tourcoing in first.

Cambrai lose narrowly again

Cambrai were promoted from Ligue B last season and have two wins and three defeats from their five matches, sitting ninth in the league.

It’s their second consecutive 3-2 defeat after leading 2-1 – they lost to Sete in their previous match.

It was Cambrai’s first match in 19 days due to COVID-19 postponements, and their coach Gabriel Denys believes the lack of matches played a part in them tiring towards the end.

He said: “It is true but it’s not the only reason. We must not forget we played against a side who wants to be at the top of the league.”
