The Superliga shows no signs of slowing down. Week four gave fans of Danish football incredible drama: a late shootout in Aarhus, another stellar turnout from Nordsjaelland, and a last-gasp winner in the capital. Here are the key numbers from matchday four, as measured by our Second Spectrum tracking data.

4.19

Without a doubt the most insane game of the weekend was the 2-2 draw between Aarhus and Silkeborg.

The home side lead 1-0 all the way up until the 90th minute, when an Alexander Lind goal levelled the score. Just four minutes later, Silkeborg took an improbable lead through Tengstedt. It looked like a steal by the away side, but the drama hadn’t ended.

Aarhus salvaged a draw in the 103rd minute, after Mikael Anderson slotted home the equalising penalty. The hosts had gone from winning, to losing, to drawing – all in the space of 13 chaotic minutes.

Aarhus actually recorded the highest xG in the Superliga across matchday four: 4.19 xG. They had 21 shots, six on target, and 82 attacking entries.

Yet again FC Nordsjaelland put in another dominant performance, moving to the top of the Superliga on goal difference.

They smashed Randers, away from home, with a 5-0 scoreline. That takes their total goals tally in the league this season to 15 after just four games played. Most importantly, from a performance point of view, their win featured five different scorers (though one was a Randers own goal). Antman, Tverskov, Schandorf and Nagalo all chipped in with goals.

Nagalo’s showing was especially impressive. He managed 15 carries, and ranked second in matchday four for both touches (110) and passes completed (103). He is the anchor of Nordsjaelland’s defensive and attacking shape.

Champions FC Copenhagen left it late to win all three points against Odense. The winning goal in their 2-1 victory came courtesy of 24-year-old Tunisian forward Elias Achouri.

He’s been a fixed part of the Copenhagen team since the season restarted, cutting inside from the left flank. He was outstanding against Odense, recording the most penalty area entries (10), attacking runs (36) and touches in the final third (54) than any other player on the pitch.
