Montpellier carry on winning

After losing their first two games of the Ligue A season, Montpellier won their 14th consecutive game against Ajaccio 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-11) to top the Ligue A table by six points.


Stats

Oliver Lecat’s side are on 40 points from 16 games, and won their third consecutive match by a scoreline of 3-0 in sets. It was their eighth 3-0 win of the season.

Canadian Ryan Sclater scored 21 points and hit six aces in the match for the league-leaders. Ajaccio have lost 15 of their 16 Ligue A games and are bottom with six points.


Tours beaten in thriller

Tours were on the receiving end of a thrilling tiebreak match against Cannes, losing 3-2 (25-27, 14-25, 25-20, 25-19, 17-19).

They fell 2-0 down in sets but almost completed a fantastic comeback as they won the next two sets.


Stats

Lincoln Williams scored 22 points for Cannes, who are fourth with 31 points from 16 games. Tours have lost three of their last five matches and are second, six points adrift of Montpellier.


Fixtures

Montpellier aim to make it 15 league wins in a row when they face Poitiers this evening, while Tours travel to fourth bottom Sete. Cannes are at home to strugglers Nantes.
