Saarbrücken go five points clear

Saarbrücken beat 10-man Viktoria Koln 2-0 to increase their lead at the top of the Germany 3 Liga table to five points.

It was Lukas Kwasniok’s side third win in a row and seventh victory from 10 games.

The league-leaders took the lead in the 24th minute when Nicklas Shipnoski’s cross was diverted into the net by Koln defender Marcel Gottschling.

Then in the 42nd minute, Viktoria Koln goalkeeper Sebastian Mielitz was sent off for handling the ball outside the penalty area.

Two minutes after half time, Tobias Jänicke’s smart backheel set up Shipnoski who found the far corner with his driven shot.

The 2-0 defeat was Koln’s second loss in a row, and means they sit seventh with 16 points from 10 games.

1860 Munich beaten

Saarbrücken’s lead has stretched to five points after 1860 Munich were beaten 2-1 by Dynamo Dresden – their third defeat in their past six games.

Phillipp Steinhart scored a stunning goal in the 27th minute to give 1860 Munich the lead. He chested the ball down and fired into the corner from 20 yards.

Yannick Stark equalised for Dresden with a low powerful shot from distance in the 33rd minute.

In the 70th minute, Ransford Königsdöffer won the game with Dresden after the ball broke to him in the box from the resulting corner. Dresden are up to sixth place with the win.

Other results

Inglostadt also lost ground in the title race, losing 4-1 away to SV Waldhof. They are also five points off the top of the table after they lost their first match in six games.

Hansa dropped points too, drawing 1-1 away at Hallescher. They have a game in hand though, and have 16 points from nine games.
