The match
Marco Kehl-Gomez scored twice from corners in three minutes to put the hosts in command of the game.
He guided a header past Jonas Kersken in the 57th minute before once again finding room in the box to find the bottom corner from close range.
The centre-back has scored six times this season for RW Essen.
The visitors missed a gilt-edged chance to halve the deficit when RW Essen goalkeeper Daniel Davari rushed out to deny Jacob Italiano from six yards out.
The hosts sealed the win with a stunning free-kick from Kevin Grund. His free kick taken from just outside the right-side of the penalty area, was struck with incredible accuracy and found the top-left corner.
