Peñarol win first game
50-time Uruguayan champions Peñarol won their first match of Group B against Deportivo Maldonado 4-1 after two successive defeats.
David Terans gave the hosts the lead after two minutes, then Matías Britos made it two after 22 minutes – taking advantage of a defensive mistake.

Bottom-placed side Maldonado went down to 10 men when Marcelo Estigarribia was dismissed.
Just before the hour mark, Britos grabbed his second. Facundo Batista scored a consolation in the 69th minute for the visitors, before Mario Saralegui’s side made it four through Luis Nicolas Olivera Moreira.

River Plate won their third consecutive game of the Intermediate Round beating Boston River 3-0 with José Neris scoring his third goal in three matches in Group B.
Adrian Elloys Leites Lopez and Matias Arezo scored the other two goals for the visitors.
