Nacional fall to last-minute defeat
Nacional fell to a shock 2-1 defeat against strugglers Danubio as they lost their first game of the Clausura division thanks to an injury time own-goal from Sergio Rochet.
Jorge Giordano’s side were expected to win comfortably against Danubio, who had won just once in their previous seven games.

First half
Danubio carried a threat early on with midfielder Matias Fritzler having a powerful drive palmed away.
But the visitors grabbed the lead in the 22nd minute when Thiago Vecino followed in the rebound after Brian Ocampo’s free kick was parried.
The hosts fought back with great effect when Nicolas Siri stabbed home on the stroke of half time after Pablo Siles’ shot from the edge of the box was saved.
Second half
Danubio once again made the match competitive in the second half and had a couple of half-chances.
The game seemed to be ending all-square until a moment of madness from Danubio goalkeeper Sergio Rochet.
Jose Luis Rodriguez sidestepped past two Nacional defenders and sent in a cross-cum-shot that should’ve been easily gathered.
But Rochet made a meal of it and his intended punch rebounded towards goal. Javier Mendez pounced and attempted to tap in and his presence panicked Rochet – who tried to clear but cleared it into his own net.
What it means
Nacional lost their first game of the season and are now five points behind Liverpool in the Clausura table. Danubio move up a place to 14th.
