Al Ain continue their bright start to the season with a convincing victory.
Al Ain handed Emirates FC a 3-1 defeat to rediscover the winning feeling after loosing to Al Nasr in round five. Two goals from Laba Kodjo and one from Eric Jorge secured a regulation win.
Even Barcelona legend, Andres Iniesta couldn’t mount a recovering for his team after having scored a consolation goal. The loss finds Emirates languishing above the relegation zone.
Hatta FC 0 – 5 Al Wasl
It was a commanding away victory for Al Wasl. They remain unbeatan in the league and drastically improved their “goals for” tally, which could be key at the end of the season.
They remain just one point behind Al Ain with their crucial fixture imminent in game week seven.
On the other hand, Hatta’s struggles in the ADNOC Pro League continue. They are yet to get a point after their sixth consecutive defeat and look destined for a season of doom.
Al Wahda 2 – 1 Ittihad Kalba
In a tight contest, Al Wahda edged Ittihad Kalba.
Omar Khribin opened the scoring in the 46th minute, while Mehdi Ghayedi equalized with a brilliant free-kick in the 69th minute.
Ittihad Kalba ended the match with 9 men, having Kiss and Bessa sent off. Al Wahda rescued a victory in the 87th minute as Guanca stepped up to convert a penalty.
Al Bataeh 1 – 1 Ajman
Al Bataeh had to settle for a draw with Ajman, who themselves remain winless in the league.
Sekou Baba’s superb solo effort in the 28th minute gave Al Bataeh the lead, while Waleed Azaro capitalized on a misplaced pass to equalize for Ajman.
Al Bataeh sit in in seventh place with eight points, while Ajman are rooted in 13th with three points from six.
Khorfakkan 4 – 2 Al Jazira
Al Jazira hadn’t conceeded more than two goals all season. That was until they met Khorfakkan.
It was virtually all over by half-time as Khorfakkan raced into a 3-1 lead.
In a surprise result for Al Jazira coach, Fran de Boer unfancied Khorfakkan sealed the victory in the 84th minute making it 4-1.
A late consolation by Ali Mabkhout wasn’t enough for Al Jazira.
Sharjah 5-0 Bani Yas
It was a masterclass from six time champions Sharjah against Bani Yas.
Three goals in the second half sealed a commanding victory for Sharjah who remain in fourth spot. Bani Yas find themselves in 11th position with seven points.
Shabab AL Ahli 3 – 3 Al Nasr
Undoubtedly, the match of the UAE Pro League week 6 involved the reigning champions.
Renan Victor opened the scoring with a brilliant header in the 15th minute for Shabab Al Ahli. However, Al Nasr responded swiftly, with Manolo Gabbiadini scoring from a challenging angle.
Luka Milivojevic received a red card in the 54th minute, giving Al Nasr a numerical advantage.
Having been trailing 3-1, Al Nasr scored two quick fire goals to level the match in the second half.
The match had one final twist as Shabab Al Ahli’s substitute, Salmin Khami, was shown a red card in stoppage time, making it a roller-coaster game for both teams and their fans.
