Tottenham Hotspur face Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday with Jose Mourinho’s side sitting in second after a strong start to the season.

Spurs stats

The North-London club have taken 17 points from eight games and haven’t lost in the Premier League since the opening day.

They beat West Brom 1-0 before the international break with Harry Kane notching his seventh league goal of the season and his 150th Premier League goal.

Spurs scored 15 times in five matches, but have managed just four in their past three games. They have won their past three games by the odd goal, beating Burnley, Brighton and West Brom.

If they win on Saturday, it would make it four wins in a row for Spurs – the first time they have done that since Feburary 2016. Mourinho’s side have lost just once in their past 14 games in all competitions.

Man City stats

Manchester City are in 10th with 12 points from seven games, having played a game fewer than Spurs.

Pep Guardiola’s side are unbeaten in their last five league matches, but have drawn three of those. City have scored just 10 goals in seven matches, at the same stage last season they had scored 27. The Blues have lost just one of their last 12 in all competitions.

Head-to-head

In the two meetings last season, Spurs won 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Steven Bergwijn and Heung-Min Son scoring, while there was a 2-2 draw at the Etihad last August.

Spurs have won four and only lost once in their past five home league games against City and have beaten them 24 times, second only to Chelsea who have won 26.

Guardiola has faced Mourinho 23 times and has an excellent record, winning 11 matches against his counterpart (Bayern Munich won Super Cup on penalties). Mourinho has won six, while the other six have been draws.
