Pep Guardiola faces old foe Jose Mourinho once again as in-form Manchester City meet Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
Man City form
Man City are in unstoppable form. The Blues have won their last 15 matches in all competitions and look like champions. The 15th consecutive win broke an English record as the longest winning run by a top-flight side.
Teams have been swatted aside with ease as City have marched to the summit of the Premier League table.
Pep Guardiola’s men have 50 points from 22 games, a lead of five points over Manchester United with a game in hand.
City have won their last 10 league matches and have conceded three in their last 14 Premier League games with new centre back signing Ruben Dias transforming the defence.
The Etihad club are unbeaten in 22 games in all competitions, since they were beaten by Spurs in November.
Gundogan and Pep win awards
Ilkay Gundogan’s sudden emergence as a goal-scoring midfielder has been recognised with an award for player of the month in January, alongside manager Pep Guardiola who also won manager of the month.
The German scored five times in six games in January, helping his club win all six matches.
Tottenham form
When Tottenham beat City in November, they were riding a wave of momentum and looking a force to be reckoned with.
However, they’ve lost their mojo and have won just four of 13 league matches since that match.
Jose Mourinho’s side have slipped down the table and have been beaten by Chelsea, Leicester and Liverpool (twice). Their last three away wins have come against Marine, Sheffield United and Wycombe.
They beat West Brom 2-0 last weekend to quell some criticism, but their hopes of ending their trophy drought took a hit when they lost 5-4 in a dramatic FA Cup tie against Everton.
Spurs have won just one of their last six Premier league away games, (D3, L2), having won four in a row before that. They are looking to win away against both Manchester clubs in a single top-flight season for the first time since 1959/60.
Head-to-head
Manchester City have won seven of their last 10 Premier League home matches against Tottenham (D2, L1).
Spurs have won both meetings against City since Mourinho took over, however both were at home.
