United win away again
Manchester United are up to sixth in the table after coming from behind to beat winless Sheffield United 3-2 at Bramall Lane.
They went a goal down for the sixth successive away league match, but once again came back to win.
First half
The Blades took the lead after five minutes, with former Sheffield United goalkeeper Dean Henderson making a huge error against his former club. He was dispossessed by Oliver Burke, who blocked his clearance and set up David McGoldrick to tap into an empty net.
John Fleck then missed a great chance to make it 2-0, and he was punished as United equalised through Marcus Rashford after 26 minutes. He ran onto a through ball by Victor Lindelof and blasted a shot past Aaron Ramsdale.
Anthony Martial then put United ahead seven minutes later, collecting a disguised Paul Pogba pass to poke the ball home at the second attempt. It was his first Premier League goal of the season.
Second half
Rashford grabbed his second of the game after a brilliant team move in the 51st minute but McGoldrick grabbed a goal back with a few minutes to go to make it a nervy finish for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Dean Henderson made an important save in stoppage time from substitute Lys Mousset’s shot.
Stats
United move into the top six after the win and are just two points behind second-placed Tottenham with a game in hand.
Sheffield United have one point from 13 games, which is the worst start to a season in top-flight history. It was their 15th defeat in 16 games dating back to last season.
Chris Wilder’s side are nine points from safety.
Manchester United are the first side to score two or more goals in 10 successive away games in the English top-flight since Tottenham in 1960.
Marcus Rashford now has 12 goals this season in all competitions, overtaking Bruno Fernandes to become United’s top goalscorer this season.
