Vardy scores late winner
Jamie Vardy scored a late winner as Leicester City won 2-1 at Bramall Lane to deepen Sheffield United’s misery.
Ayoze Perez gave the Foxes in the lead in the 24th minute before Oli McBurnie headed the Blades level just two minutes later to score his first goal in 15 league games.
But as the game was set to end level, Leicester won it. After a mistake in midfield, James Maddison pounced and played in Vardy who slotted his shot past Aaron Ramsdale.
Vardy, who is a fan of rivals Sheffield Wednesday, celebrated by running to the corner flag and snapping it with his boot.
Sheffield United were only a few minutes away from their second point of the season, but have just one point from 11 games.
Leicester are fourth with 21 points from 11 games. The win ended a run of four games games without a victory in all competitions.
