Brighton inflicted Liverpool’s second successive defeat at home in the Premier League with a 1-0 win at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

Steven Alzate’s scrambled finish in the 56th minute after Dan Burn headed Solly March’s cross across the goal gave Graham Potter’s side their third win in a row in the Premier League. It was their first league win at Anfield since 1982.

Liverpool did not pepper the Brighton goal and their best chance fell to Mohamed Salah who fired over.

Caoimhin Kelleher, who was in for the injured Alisson, made some smart saves to deny Pascal Gross and Leonardo Trossard adding to Brighton’s lead.
