The 2024 season of Venezuela’s Liga FUTVE 2 commenced on Saturday March 16th, marking the start of the Apertura Tournament featuring 16 teams from across the country.
The teams are divided into two groups of eight.
In Grupo Centro Oriente, Anzoátegui FC, AIFI de Guayana, Atlético La Cruz, Bolívar SC, Deportivo Miranda, Dynamo Puerto, Marítimo de La Guaira, and Nueva Esparta FC face off against in each other.
Meanwhile, in Grupo Occidental, Academia Rey, Aragua, Atlético El Vigía, Héroes de Falcón, Real Frontera, Trujillanos FC, Ureña, and Yaracuyanos FC all challenge to be the top team in the group.
First Fixtures
The inaugural fixture on the Saturday started with Dynamo Puerto against Anzoátegui FC in the anticipated Puerto La Cruz Derby.
The result was secured by Dynamo Puerto who claimed a strong 2-0 victory against their rivals. A goal in each half from Salas and Castillo made the game comfortable for Dynamo Puerto. While Anzoátegui midfielder, Jhonny Parima received a red card in injury time to compile his team’s misery.
