Volley Lube beaten for first time
Volley Calipo ended Cucine Lube Civitanova run of eight consecutive wins with a 3-1 win (25-23, 18-25, 25-20, 25-23) in the Italian SuperLega.
It was the first time Lube had been beaten at home since January.

The league-leaders led 10-6 in the first set but Calipo fought back to level at 11-11 and they ended up taking the set, making four aces.
Volley Lube dominated the second set but in the third set, MVP of the match Thibault Rossard scored eight points and made an ace.

The fourth set was similar with Rossard once again influential for Calipo. He scored 19 points in the match, making four aces.
He has now scored 162 points this season, which is the third most in the league. American Torey DeFalco also scored 17 points for Calipo.
Volley Calipo stay fourth with 16 points and six wins from their nine games.
Other results
Vero Volley Monza also won, beating Gas Sales Piacenza 3-1.
Piacenza led in many of the sets but could not win the decisive points. Adis Lagumdzija was named MVP for the winning side, scoring 17 points and making two aces. Monza sit seventh with 10 points from their nine games.
Elsewhere, Modena beat second-bottom Kioene Padova 3-0 to make it five wins from eight in the league.
