Volley Lube win in tiebreak

Volley Lube were involved in another thriller as they beat Modena 3-2 (25-20, 28-30, 25-19 16-25, 15-10) in a topsy-turvy match in the Italian SuperLega.

It was a marathon match with the hosts winning in a tie-break for the second successive game. It means they take two points from the match and fall six points behind leaders Perugia.

Kamil Rychlicki scored 16 points for the hosts, as did Osmany Juantorena.


What it means

It was Ferdinando De Giorgi’s side fifth successive win in the league. They are on 43 points from 18 matches – trailing Perugia by six points with a game in hand.


Perugia go six points clear

Perugia went six points clear at the top of the table after they beat Revivre Milano 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-16, 25-21).

It was their first win at home since December 20th after two successive losses.


Leon MVP

Wilfredo Leon was on top form for the Block Devils as he scored 27 points, with two aces and three blocks. He has scored 354 points in total this season, second to Abdel- Aziz Nimir who has 387.

Fixtures

Volley Lube play their game in hand against Vero Volley Monza against Tuesday, before a trip to bottom side Top Volley Latina at the weekend. Perugia play Modena on Sunday.
