Bolivar overcome first-leg deficit
After the first leg at the Estadio Jose Alberto Perez, where Trujillanos beat Bolivar 1-0, the team coached by Jesus Rodriguez managed to reverse the deficit, coming from behind to beat the Warriors 2-0, leaving a 2-1 aggregate score.
The first goal of the match was scored by Argenis Gómez inside 16 minutes of the first half, levelling the score. With the rest of the game at a stalemate, it look like extra time was inevitable. But a Rafael Tapia goal in the 96th minute sent Bolivar to the semi-finals.
Moreno goals help Marítimo
Their opponents will be Marítimo, who defeated Real Frontera 2-1 in the second leg of their quarter-final match. The result mirrored that of the first leg, sending the Guairenses through 4-2 on aggregate. Marítimo striker Enmanuel Moreno was the star of the tie, scoring a crucial goal in both matches.
Ureña: the great candidate
After a season in which they qualified for the playoffs for the first time in their history, Adolfo Monsalve’s side are not disappointing. After a 1-0 win at the Estadio Olimpico, they thrashed Deportivo Miranda 5-2 at the Polideportivo Humberto Laureano, showing great strength ahead of the decisive stages for promotion to the topflight of Venezuelan football.
The Azucareros began the match leading 2-0. But the visitors tied the match with two goals in a six-minute period at the start of the second half. But to the huge disappointment of the away fans, who longed to see a thrilling finish, Ureña scored three goals in 10 minutes (81′, 88′, 91′), and the match ended 5-2.
