Cyprus First Division round-up: Apollon regain top spot

Apollon Limassol went top of the Cypriot first division after they edged past Doxa Katokopias 1-0.

Ioannis Pittas volleyed in from a corner in the 51st minute to score his third goal in two games.

What it means

The win puts Apollon two points clear of rivals AEL Limasso, having played the same amount of games.

After beating Anorthosis in their last match, Doxa remain eighth. They have only won once in their past eight games.

Elsewhere, Anorthosis dropped points for the second successive match as they drew 1-1 against Ermis Aradippou.

Scotsman Kevin Holt gave Ermis the lead, heading in at the back post after he was left unmarked at a corner.

The visitors equalised with 13 minutes to go, Dor Micha crossed for Giorgi Kvilitaia to power a header home and score his seventh of the season.

What it means

Anorthosis remain third, two points off the top.

Ermis Aradippou are 10th and have drawn their past five league games.
