Chile LNB Liga Dos: Sportiva remain top, Arturo Pratt end winless run

Sportiva Italiana remain top of the tree

Sportiva Italiana beat CD Tinguiririca S.F 65-54 at the weekend to continue their perfect record so far this season.

They have won five from five this season and are top of the table with 10 points.

The league-leaders won the first two quarters to take a 29-21 lead at half-time, but they lost the third quarter by six points to set up a crucial fourth quarter battle.

Sportiva Italiana then showed their class to dominate and see off Tinguiririca in the final quarter.

Federico Herrera scored 18 points and made eight rebounds for the visitors, while Gaspar Hernández and Rodrigo Rojas registered 10 points each to complete the away win.

For Tinguiririca, Juan Videla was excellent, contributing with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

A big difference between the two sides was their accuracy from free throws. Sportiva Italiana were successful with 56% of theirs, while the home team made 38% of the 26 taken.

Arturo Pratt off the bottom with key win

Elsewhere, in a battle between the two winless sides, it was Arturo Pratt who got the better of CD Brisas as they won 79-72.

Elias Donoso registered 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Felipe Ortega and José Naranjo both scored 14 points to help Arturo Pratt end a run of four games without a win.

Felipe Oyarzún’s superb display of 30 points was in vain as his side dropped to bottom spot in the table, however they are level on point with four sides above them.

Stadio Italiano still in touch

Stadio Italiano, from Santiago, hammered Árabe Valparaiso 106-58 at home.

Ramiro Gálvez led his side’s victory with an outstanding 32 points. Cristian Urrutia registered 22 points as well as five assists for the home team.
