RB Leipzig top of the tree

RB Leipzig lead the Bundesliga table after four matches. They beat Augsburg 2-0 with goals from Angelino and a left footed volley from Danish forward Yussuf Poulsen. Poulsen scored with his first touch after coming on in the 66th minute. Both goals were assisted by Spaniard Dani Olmo.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side lead the table on 10 points and have now gone a club-record nine away games without defeat.

Lewa at the double

Bayern Munich thrashed Arminia Bielefeld 4-1 with striker Robert Lewandowski grabbing two goals in the first half to add to his tally for the season. The Polish striker has seven Bundesliga goals for the season and has 213 goals in 258 Bundesliga appearances.

The Bundesliga champions were 3-0 up at half-time with Thomas Muller opening the scoring. He scored again in the second half when Lewandowski crossed for him to score. Bayern have now won four in a row in all competitions and become the first team since 1967-68 to score 17 goals in the first four matchdays.

Subs the difference for Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund edged past Hoffenheim on Saturday to make it three wins from four, winning 1-0.

Marco Reus tapped in to score the only goal of the game after fellow substitute Erling Haaland teed him up with 14 minutes to go. Hoffenheim have lost back-to-back games since they beat Bayern Munich 4-1.

Schalke get first point of the season

Dortmund face winless Schalke in the Revierderby at the weekend with Schalke on a 20 game run without a win.

They drew to Union Berlin 1-1 on Sunday to gain their first point of the season with Goncalo Paciência equalising for the hosts and scoring his first ever goal for the side.

Leverkusen’s first win

After three successive draws, Bayer Leverkusen won their first game of the season, beating Mainz 1-0.

Lucas Alario scored the winner in the 30th minute. Mainz have lost all four games for the first time since 2005/06, when Jurgen Klopp was in charge.
