League-leaders Bayern Munich host Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker on Saturday in the Bundesliga.

Bayern Munich form

Bayern’s seven-point lead has been reduced to two points in recent weeks after their draw with Arminia Bielefeld and defeat to Eintracht Franfkurt.

They currently lead RB Leipzig by two points in the table with 11 games to go. Hansi Flick’s side bounced back to hammer Köln 5-1 last weekend with Robert Lewandowski scoring twice to increase his tally to 28 league goals in 22 games.

He needs 12 to match Gerd Muller’s record of 40 goals in a Bundesliga season.

Bayern have scored 67 goals in 23 games, 19 more than the next-best team. However, they have conceded 32 goals after 23 matches, their worst defensive record at this stage for 29 years.

The reigning champions are unbeaten in 21 home games in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund form

Borussia Dortmund have embarked on a good run of form in recent weeks after a troubled season.

BVB have won their last four in all competitions after a run of just one win in six games in the Bundesliga.

The visitors are in a huge battle for the top four and have risen to fifth after successive wins. They have 39 points and trail Eintracht Frankfurt in fourth by three points.

Head-to-head

Bayern Munich have won the last four Bundesliga games against Dortmund, including a thrilling 3-2 win earlier this season. They have thrashed their rivals at the Allianz Arena in recent years – scoring four or more in their last five clashes with Dortmund.
