Casademont Zaragoza will play AEK in the semi-finals on Friday after they squeezed past fellow Spanish side Iberostar Tenerife 87-81.
It will be Zaragoza’s first ever European semi-final after winning a very tight battle against the former champions.
Diego Ocampo’s side had a 10 point lead in the third quarter, but Tenerife fought back to level the match with only two and a half minutes to go.
Casademont’s Nico Brussino took the game away from his former side with a lay-up and some key free-throws in the last few minutes of the fourth quarter.
Robin Benzing top-scored with 17, but Brussino’s 12 points were vital to steer his side to victory.
