Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires on a roll

Group A leaders Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires continued their excellent start to the season with a third-straight 3-0 win, (25-14, 26-24, 25-21) this time against San Lorenzo de Almagro in the third week of the Argentinian División de Honor.

San Lorenzo were outclassed in the first set but improved in the second and had a set point but the Buenos Aires side saved it and then went on to win their eight straight set. They killed the match with a comfortable third set to move on to nine points.


Vidoni MVP

Valentino Vidoni from Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires was the top scorer of the match with 19 points.


Velez Sarsfield off the mark

Velez Sarsfield registered their first victory of the season after beating Universidad de Buenos Aires 3-1 (19-25 25-21 20-25 23-25) to remain fourth in the group, level with San Lorenzo and River Plate on points. Universidad de Buenos Aires  are bottom and are yet to gain a point.


Top two keep up 100% records

In Group B, the top two sides – Club Lomas de Zamora and Ferrocarril Oeste – maintained their unbeaten records with their third wins of the season.

Ferrocarril, like Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires, are yet to lose a set after winning 3-0 (25-15 17-25 21-25) against Club Nautico Hacoaj. It was another commanding performance from the Group B leaders.

Lomas de Zamora had more issues against Defensores de Banfield, who almost took the match to a fifth set but eventually lost in a tight fourth set, losing (25-23 25-17 13-25 25-23).


Boca complete comeback

Boca Juniors won their second five-set match of the season, coming from two sets down to beat Club Ciudad de Campana encounter (25-21 27-25 21-25 25-27 17-15) in a dramatic encounter.

The win takes Boca Juniors into third place in Group B, while Club Ciudad remain bottom.
