For the first time since 2007, Al Wasl were crowned champions of the UAE Pro League.

The club from Dubai completed the achievement in style with a 2-0 victory against arch-rivals Al Nasr in the Bur Dubai Derby.

Al Nasr 0 – 2 AL Wasl

The Zabeel stadium hosted a pivotal match between two fierce rivals in an end of season showpiece.

Following a stalemate in the first half, defender Soufiane Bouftini shattered the impasse in the 68th minute. Siaka Sidibe then doubled the lead in the 76th minute, courtesy of a pinpoint pass from Ali Saleh.

The win confirms Al Wasl’s supremacy with a total of 67 points.

It was a monumental season for the team from Dubai. They suffered only one defeat, netting 70 goals, and conceding just 27. It also marked a double trophy winning season. Al Wasl won the President’s Cup in 2024 only a few weeks prior to the end of the league season.

 

Shabab Al Ahli 10 – 0 Hatta

Last season’s champions finished the campaign in style.

It was a 10 goal demolition of already relegated Hatta.

Manis Dabbur scored a hat-trick, while Igor Jesus Da Cruz and Harib Abdalla both scored twice.

The win confirmed Shabab Al Ahli would finish 2nd in the standings with 58 points.

 

Al Ain secure third place

Fresh from there AFC Champions League victory, Al Ain secured third place in the UAE Pro League.

Despite a 2-1 loss to Al Jazira, Al Ain beat Sharjah to third place by three points. They finished on 45 points, but will count the season a success due to their exploits in the AFC Champions League.

Despair for Andres Iniesta

Emirates FC joined Hatta in relegation from the UAE Pro League.

It’s Iniesta’s first relegation in an illustrious career. They lost 3-2 to Al Bateh in the final game of the season.
