Burgos go second
Basketball Champions League winners San Pablo Burgos edged past Baskonia 91-89 in a very tight Liga Endesa match that was won by Jasiel Rivero’s two-pointer with less than a second on the clock.
The scores were tied at 89-89 with both teams going all out to win and it came down to who was going to take the chance. Rivero was quick to take the rebound after a missed throw that hit the rim.

Burgos had a seven-point lead at the end of the first quarter and they stretched that to 10 at half-time but defending champions Baskonia won the third quarter 31-18 to take a narrow lead in the final quarter. However, the home side came up trumps in the final quarter, winning it 25-20 to seal the win.
Burgos sit second in the table, having won four of their five games. They travel to Andorra to play MoraBanc on Sunday. Baskonia are in seventh place; they have won three of their five games and face Barcelona next.
Joan Peñarroya’s team were more clinical overall, scoring 24 out of their 33 two-point attempts (73%), while Baskonia scored only 19 out of 35 (54%).

Another big difference was the 21 assists from Burgos, compared to 12 from Duško Ivanović’s side. Serbian-Canadian Dejan Kravić contributed with 16 points for Burgos while Alex Renfroe scored 14 with a 100% success rate with his three-point attempts (2 out of 2). Rokas Giedraitis top-scored with 19 points and eight rebounds.
Madrid top of the table
Real Madrid kept up their 100% winning record with a comfortable 90-65 victory. Argentinian Facundo Campazzo scored 11 points and got 8 assists. Five Madrid players scored double figure points.

It’s the third consecutive defeat for 14th placed Gran Canaria. Madrid outrebounded Gran Canaria 40-25, including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Madrid face 18th placed Bilbao next, while Gran Canaria play Unicaja.
Tenerife win again
Iberostar Tenerife made it four wins out of four in Liga Endesa, beating bottom-placed side Montakit Fuenlabrada 91-87 in a close contest.
The home side made 23 assists in total and scored 29 out of 38 free throws. Tenerife’s Marcelo Huertas scored 19 points, made 9 assists and 3 rebounds.
