Al Ain FC climbed to the summit of UAE Pro League after round 3. They secured a resounding 6-0 victory over Ajman FC, with Soufiane Rahimi scoring two of the six goals.
Shabab Al Ahli and Al Wasl FC also secured victories to sit level with Al Ain, but a superior goal difference sees the 2022 champions occupy first place.
Al Sharjar FC 1 – 0 Al Nasr
Sharjah FC secured a hard-fought away victory against Al Nasr, courtesy of Abdalla Ghanim’s solitary goal.
Following this win, Sharjah FC climbed to 6th position in the league standings.
Meanwhile, Al Nasr continue to languish at the bottom of the table, yet to secure a win in this year’s UAE Pro League.
Ittihad Kalba 0 – 4 Al Jazira
Al Jazira put on a commanding display, scoring four goals against Itthad Kalba, propelling them to the 4th position in the league standings. Four different players found the net for the capital club on that night, providing some much-needed relief to their coach.
Khorfakkan 0 – 2 Emirates Club
Former Barcelona player Paco Alcacer, who transferred from Sharjah FC to join forces with Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta, scored a goal for Emirates FC, securing a 2-0 victory over Khorfakkan FC.
The first win of the season for Emirates means they have now amassed four points from their opening three league games. They sit in seventh.
Al Bateh 0 – 2 Shabab Al Ahli
Last year’s league champions, Shabab Al Ahli, netted two goals against Al Bataeh FC, with goals scored by Yahya Ali Al Ghassani and Federico Cartabia.
Shabab Al Ahli currently occupy second place in the league standings, trailing only on goal difference behind Al Ain FC, but with a better defensive record.
Al Wahda 1 – 0 Hatta
Omar Khrbin netted the only goal in the first half for Al Wahda FC, securing a victory against Hatta Club.
Hatta FC, are still in search of their first win this season. They find themselves second from the bottom of the league table in what looks certain to be a struggle for them this season.
AL Wasl 3 – 2 Bani Yas
In the pick of the round’s action, Al Wasl fought hard for a 3-2 victory against Bani Yas FC.
Ali Saleh, who was recognized as the best player of the month of August, scored a goal and provided an assist for Al Wasl Club.
Despite Sasa Ivkovic’s two goals for Baniyas, the home team managed to clinch the game 3-2 and maintain their position at the top, tied on goal difference with Al Ain and Shabab Al Ahli.
