Seven rounds into the Liga FUTVE 2 season and it could not be tighter. Just three points separate first and seventh in the table in group A, and in group B just three points separate five teams. Here’s how the table looks after Round 7:

Three in a row for Bolivar
An early second-half goal put Nueva Esparta 1-0 up after Jhon Velazquez converted from the penalty spot. Nueva Esparta, who sat in second-place heading into the game, could have jumped to the top of the table with a win. But three minutes before the end of regulation, Alberto Cabello buried a penalty for Bolivar – levelling the score.
The game looked destined for a draw, until a mistake in the penalty area by Nueva Esparta allowed Rudi Francis to intercept and put Bolivar ahead in the 92nd minute. They held on to steal a vital away victory. They’re now tied in first place in the Oriental group with Academia and Deportivo Miranda, who all have 11 points.
Remarkably, it’s the first time this season that Bolivar have scored more than one goal in a game. Their third win of the season came at the expense of Nueva Esparta’s third defeat in a row.

Real Frontera sitting pretty
Titanes de Guanare hosted group B leaders Real Frontera and suffered their fifth defeat in seven games after Frontera scored two unanswered goals.
Marlón Fernández opened the scoring on the 70th minute with a shot from outside the area after a turnover in the Frontera half allowed a counter-attack. When Titanes defender Angel Flores missed the opportunity to clear the ball just minutes later, Frontera pounced and doubled their lead. Fernandez recovered the lose ball, dribbled into the space and set up Montaño, sealing a 0-2 away victory.
