Fecha 21 saw Boca Juniors go 10 games unbeaten. But, Atletico Tucuman remain top of the division, whilst Gimnasia and River Plate both lost.
Boca make it 10 in a row
Boca Juniors defeated Godoy Cruz 1-0 to make it ten games unbeaten in the Liga Profesional.
The goal came in the 40th minute when Luis Vazquez played the ball onto Luca Langoni who fired in from range.
It was a very even game with both teams having 50% of possession, they also had the same amounts of shots on target of 3.
Next up for Los Xeneizes is a home match against Velez Sarsfield where Hugo Ibarra’s side will be looking to extend their unbeaten run.
Tucuman remain top
Atletico Tucuman defeated Estudiantes 3-1 to maintain their place at the top of the division.
Tucuman took the lead in the 29th minute when Ignacio Maestro Puch played through Mateo Coronel whose low shot fizzed past Mariano Andujar.
However, they were pegged back just before half-time as Manuel Castro’s cross was headed in by Leandro Diaz.
El Decano retook the lead in the 59th minute, this time Coronel turned provider as his low cross was fired in by Augusto Lotti. Then Lotti slotted his 77th-minute penalty into the bottom corner to seal the victory.

Despite the win, Tucuman again had less possession than their opposition with just 38%. However, they did have 5 shots on target to Estudiantes’ 3.
Tucuman’s next game comes with a trip to Patronato where they will be expecting to keep their place at the top of the league. Patronato is currently 12th in the league.
Gimnasia slip up again
Gimnasia lost their second game in a row as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Tigre.
The only goal in the game came in the 30th minute when Lucas Ariel Menossi played in Blas Armoa who ran through and slotted the finish into the back of the net.
It was a very even game with both sides having 12 shots with 2 on target. However, El Matador just edged the possession stats with 52%.
Gimnasia is up against Barracas Central in Fecha 22 where they need a victory to avoid falling by the wayside in the title challenge. Barracas at the moment is in 18th place in the division.
River lose again
River Plate lost their third match in four games as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Talleres Cordoba.

Ulises Ortegoza scored the winner in the 92nd minute with a fantastic solo run before squeezing his shot in off the post.
Los Millonarios had 56% possession but had just 13 shots with 2 on target compared to Talleres’ 16 shots with 8 on target.
Marcelo Gallardo’s side faces Argentinos Juniors in their next match and like Gimnasia are in desperate need of a victory of their are to keep up in the title race. Argentinos are 6th in the division, one place above River in 7th. They come into the game after beating Colon 4-0 so it will not be an easy task for Gallardo’s side.
