Huge London derby on Sunday

In the big fixture of the weekend, Nuno Espirito Santo’s Tottenham Hotspur host Chelsea as Spurs hope to respond after their first defeat of the season at Crystal Palace last weekend.

Spurs form

Tottenham had made a 100% start to the season and were leading the table after three successive 1-0 wins but a Japhet Tanganga red card brought a collapse in the second half and they were beaten 3-0 by Patrick Vieira’s men.

The north London side will be underdogs against Chelsea on Sunday but they demonstrated their threat on the counter attack against Manchester City as they ran out 1-0 winners.

Chelsea form

Chelsea have made an unbeaten start to the season and sit on 10 points after four games.

They were below their best against Aston Villa last weekend and had goalkeeper Edouard Mendy to thank but Romelu Lukaku was super clinical in front of goal, taking both of his chances to make it three goals in three league games this season.

The Blues have won their last two meetings at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, as many in their previous 13. Chelsea have won their last five league away London derbies – they’ve never won six in a row before.

The Moyes derby

In the other Premier League clash on Sunday, Man United travel to the London stadium to face West Ham United.

West Ham United form

West Ham drew 0-0 at Southampton last weekend to remain unbeaten with two wins and two draws but they had key man Michail Antonio sent off, ruling him out of Sunday’s match.

David Moyes’ side have little cover for the in-form striker and may field winger Jarrod Bowen up top instead.

The hosts got off to a flying start in the Europa League as they won 2-0 at Dinamo Zagreb with Antonio taking advantage of a defensive mistake and Declan Rice scoring a brilliant solo goal.

Manchester United form

Both sides have made unbeaten starts with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side two points clear and top of the table on goal difference.

However, it was a dispiriting and grim evening for United in midweek as they were beaten 2-1 by bottom seeds Young Boys.

Jesse Lingard, who had a hugely successful loan at West Ham last season, played a blind backpass in stoppage time to help hand the hosts victory.

The Reds will be looking to bounce back and maintain their strong start to the season in the Premier League.

They are 28 games unbeaten away from home in the League and can extend the English league record they broke at Wolves in August.

Head-to-head

United did the double over West Ham in the league last season but the Irons have won two of their last six against the league leaders.
