Fulham ease to victory

Fulham remain top of the Championship after more goals from Aleksandr Mitrovic and talented teenager Fabio Carvalho led them to a comfortable 2-0 home victory over newly-promoted Hull City.

As expected, Marco Silva’s side are looking every bit like a promotion contender and should be heading back to the Premier League come the end of the season
The defeat for the Tigers is their third in a row since their thumping victory at Preston on the opening day and leaves them just a point clear of the relegation zone after four games.

WBA and Stoke join Fulham on 10 points

West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City kept pace with the Cottagers and only remain behind them on goal difference.

Albion scored at both ends of the first half through Alex Mowatt and Matt Phillips to take a 2-0 lead into the break before Ben Brereton Diaz made the scoreline look more flattering than Rovers deserved, eventually succumbing to their first defeat of the season.
As for Stoke, Josh Tymon scored his first goal in over four and a half years to give Michael O’Neill’s side a 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest.
Forest failed to notch a single shot on target in the game and now find themselves rooted to the foot of the table after a dreadful start to the season. These are worrying times for Chris Hughton’s men.

Coventry score late winner; QPR equalise in stoppage time

Coventry City continued their impressive start to the season at home to Reading; the Sky Blues came from a goal down to beat Reading 2-1, scoring a dramatic late winner in the 98th minute.

John Swift has had a strong start to the campaign; he opened the scoring from the penalty spot for the visitors before substitute Jamie Allen levelled things up midway through the second half.
Fellow replacement Matty Godden then gave Mark Robins’ side the victory in the 98th minute; their second straight injury-time winner on home soil.
Queens Park Rangers came back from two goals down at home to Barnsley to hold on to their unbeaten record.

Charlie Austin scored in the 91st minute to ensure a share of the points in a thoroughly entertaining game. Cardiff join them in the play-off places after a 3-1 victory over Millwall, who remain above the relegation places only on goal difference.

Aden Flint was on target twice in four minutes for the Bluebirds; the centre-back now sits as top scorer in the division.

Cardiff’s win pushed Bournemouth out of the top six after the Cherries dropped a two-goal lead at home to play-off final winners Blackpool.

Bournemouth drop two points; Blues hammer Luton; Blades lose in stoppage time;Β
A Dominic Solanke double was cancelled out by James Husband after a free kick was only half-cleared before a Jerry Yates penalty three minutes later.
Birmingham City ran riot at Kenilworth Road; Talith Chong impressed again, setting up one of Scott Hogan’s two goals, which helped Lee Bowyer’s side to a 5-0 victory over a poor Luton Town side.
Huddersfield Town inflicted more misery on Sheffield United; a 2-1 victory at Bramall Lane leaves the Blades second bottom and without a win since their relegation from the Premier League.
Billy Sharp equalised in the 92nd minute but two minutes later their Yorkshire rivals stole victory with a goal from Levi Colwill.

Derby County continued their recent improvement amid their off-field turbulence with a creditable 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough, in which they had the bulk of the chances through Louie Sibley and Sam Baldock.
Preston North End lifted themselves off the bottom of the table with a narrow 1-0 win over Peterborough United at Deepdale; Patrick Bauer’s early effort was enough to earn Frankie McAvoy’s first win of the campaign.
Finally, Friday night saw Swansea City kickstart their spluttering start to the season with a 1-0 win over Bristol City at Ashton Gate. Joe Piroe’s classy effort from his own rebounded strike sees the sides sit 15th and 16th respectively.
