Freiburg won 28 of their 42 games scoring 95 goals , an average of 2.26 goals per game. That goal tally was only bettered by runners-up Elversberg, who scored 98 goals.
Christian Preußer’s side had the best defence in the division, conceding just 38 goals, a rate of just 0.90 goals per game.
Preußer will not be in charge of Freiburg II next season as he has left to join Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Elversberg will be favourites next season to go one better under manager Horst Steffen.
Sascha Marquet finished as the top-scorer in the division with 26 goals for TSV Steinbach. His side finished fifth in the table.
Relegated sides
The relegated sides were Bayern Alzenau and Eintracht Stadtallendorf, who were both doomed to relegation after horrendous seasons. Stadtallendorf lost 31 of their 42 games, taking just 17 points and conceding 104 goals. While, Alzenau managed just 25 points, losing 27 games.
