State of play in Norway

The Norway Eliteserien is back after a two week break. While most of the world’s attention will be on either the European Championships or the Copa America, there is still a lot to play for as the season kicks into gear over the summer.

Currently, Rosenborg lead the table with 14 points from seven games, but they have played a game more than reigning champions Bodo/Glimt, who are just a point behind.

Bodo/Glimt were beaten for the first time this season and knocked off the top of the table in their last fixture, losing 1-0 to Odd.


Fixtures

Kjetil Knutsen’s side host Mjondalen on Sunday hoping to get back to winning ways and keep their unbeaten home form going. Mjondalen have five points from their four games this season as they aim to avoid a repeat of last season when they avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth after winning their relegation play-off in stoppage time.

Leaders Rosenborg have been the entertainers so far this season, scoring 19 – the most in the division – and conceding 11 – the fourth highest in the division, They visit Strömsgodset on Sunday, who are winless in their last three games. Kristoffer Zachariassen will be looking to add to his impressive goal tally – he has already scored seven so far this season. He made his Norway debut in the recent international break.

Elsewhere, Kristiansund, who have won their last four games. play Haugesund, while Molde travel to play third-bottom Sandefjord.
