Champions aim for first win

Reigning champions Deportivo La Guaira will be looking to get their first win of the new season when they travel to Puerto Cabello on Saturday evening.

Daniel Farias’ side drew 0-0 in their first game of the season against Aragua in Group B, while Puerto Cabello will be playing their first match of the season.

Gran Valencia were victorious in their first game in Group B, beating Carabobo 1-0. Angel Osorio scored the only goal of the game in the 58th minute to give the Maracay club a perfect start. They visit Aragua on Sunday.

Group C

It has been a mixed start for Caracas, the most successful club in Venezuela. They won their first game in Group C, beating Universidad Central, but they fell to a 1-0 defeat against LALA FC with both sides going down to 10 men.

Monagas will be aiming to make it two wins out of two in Group C, when they travel to Universidad Central on Sunday.

Group A

In Group A, Deportivo Tachira play Zulia on Saturday. Tachira took home all three points in their first fixture, beating Madeira Club Lara 2-1.
