Three minutes later, Sherif scored a wonderful goal to grab his second of the game and net the crucial winner. The 25-year-old received the ball from 25-yards out and unleashed a fierce strike that found the top corner.
However, Zamalek were given a reprieve in the 55th minute when Seifeddine Jaziri collided with Ali Lotfi and was brought down in the box.
Mahmoud Alaa stepped up but his penalty was saved by Lotfi, who made amends for his clumsy challenge. The rebound was then blazed over.
