Man City keep on winning

Manchester City stretched their lead to 12 points at the top of the Premier League table after their narrow 2-1 win against a resilient West Ham side.

The match

Ruben Dias and John Stones scored either side of a Michail Antonio leveller to make it 20 successive wins in all competitions for the relentless league-leaders.

Ruben Dias headed past Darren Randolph on the half-hour mark after a brilliant Kevin de Bruyne left-footed cross, before Antonio tapped in after some good play by the Hammers.

Stones’ fired home after a lay-off from Riyad Mahrez in the 68th minute to net his fourth goal of the season.

What it means

City are now unbeaten in 27 games in all competitions, and have won 14 consecutive league games.

Pep Guardiola’s side are 12 points clear of Man United in second, who drew 0-0 at Chelsea on Sunday. West Ham remain fourth, a point clear of Chelsea in fifth.

Stats

Antonio’s goal was the first time an opposition player had scored at the Etihad since Mohamed Salah’s penalty for Liverpool in November. A Ruben Dias own goal in December was the last time City conceded at home.

De Bruyne is now level with Harry Kane for assists in the Premier League – 11.
