Liverpool back in form

Mohamed Salah scored twice as Liverpool beat West Ham to make it back-to-back 3-1 away wins in the Premier League.

The match

The Egyptian ended a six game league drought with two brilliantly taken goals in the second half. The first 45 minutes saw Liverpool dominate the ball but find it difficult to penetrate.

But an immediate impact was made by substitute Curtis Jones who made a smart dribble to find Salah in the 57th minute. The forward cut inside onto his left foot and curled a shot into the far corner.

Salah then finished off a superb counter attack from a West Ham corner with an outstanding touch and finish to double Liverpool’s lead.

Georginio Wijnaldum finished off a classy move to net Liverpool’s third, before Craig Dawson headed in a consolation.

What it means

West Ham six game winning run in all competitions was ended with this loss, but they stay fifth in the table. They are without a win against Liverpool for 10 games.

Jurgen Klopp’s side went four league games without scoring before beating Spurs, but have now scored six goals in their last two games.

They are up to third in the table, four points behind Man City having played a game more.

Other results

Patrick Bamford scored one and assisted two as Leeds United came from behind to register an impressive 3-1 win against Leicester.
