Opportunity for United

Manchester United can go top of the Premier League if they avoid defeat against Burnley at Turf Moor on Tuesday evening.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will be aiming for all three points though, that would take them three points clear of the chasing pack ahead of the trip to Anfield on Sunday.

Man United form

United haven’t been in league action since they edged past Aston Villa 2-1 on New Years Day. The win was their eighth in their last 10 Premier League games (W8, D2).

Their away record is excellent with six wins and a draw from seven league games this season. They are the only side still unbeaten away from home in the Premier League this season.

Only Leicester have a better away record, thought they have played two games more. The Red Devils have scored two or more goals in their last 11 Premier League away games and last lost away from home to Liverpool last January.

Bruno Fernandes has the second-most goal contributions in a player’s first 30 games in Premier League history (33). Only Andy Cole has more (37).

Burnley form

Burnley are revitalised after a good run of form with four wins from their last eight league games.

Sean Dyche’s men have won their last two home games, and are unbeaten in their last five home games in all competitions.

Burnley had only collected two points from their first seven games of the season, but have earned as many points as Spurs over the last nine match-days.

Head-to-head

Burnley won 2-0 at Old Trafford in the last meeting between the two sides. United have won four of their last five visits to Turf Moor, keeping a clean sheet each time.
