Dortmund make statement at Leipzig
Erling Haaland scored a brace as Borussia Dortmund demonstrated their class by beating RB Leipzig 3-1.
The loss was Leipzig’s first at home this season. It was a tepid first half with no chances of note.
Second half
Jadon Sancho gave Dortmund the lead 10 minutes into half time after a brilliant move involving Haaland and Marco Reus.
Haaland held off a couple of defenders and dribbled into the box. He laid it off to Reus, who showed great awareness to flick it into the path of the Englishman who found the bottom corner. Sancho became the youngest player ever to reach 32 Bundesliga goals.
The second goal was of equal excellence. Haaland again showed his strength to start a move than ended with Sancho clipping a ball to the far post for the Norwegian to head into the net with just under 20 minutes left.
Reus played a delicious through ball for Haaland to run onto and round the keeper for his 12th league goal of the season.

What it means
Alexander Sorloth scored a consolation for Julian Nageslmann’s side, who couldn’t take advantage of Bayern losing and stay second. Dortmund are fourth, just five points off the top.
