In the first game for both sides in 2021, Apollon registered a huge win to maintain top spot in the league.
First half
Anorthosis took the lead after nine minutes with Giorgi Kvilitaia running onto Nikos Kaltsas’s pass and slotting into the bottom corner. It was his eighth goal of the season.

The visitors did double their lead in the 29th minute when substitute Dor Micha seflessly teed up Josef Husbauer to score.
Second half
Seven minutes into the second half, the hosts grabbed a goal back. Frenchman Nicolas Diguiny headed home from Bagaliy Dabo’s teasing cross.
On the hour mark, Anorthosis were back on level terms. Joao Pedro’s overlapping run was recognised and he found Florentin Matei who finished well at the far post.
Apollon completed the comeback with a controversial penalty. Branko Vrgoc was adjudged to have handballed after the referee reviewed his decision.
Diguiny slotted home from the penalty spot to score his ninth league goal of the season and give Sofronis Avgousti’s side a crucial win.
