It was a low-scoring Premier League weekend with just 19 goals scored across the 10 games. The top two – Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool – both drew 1-1 while the Manchester derby ended goalless.

Spurs draw

Tottenham were held to a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace as Jeffrey Schlupp cancelled out Harry Kane’s first half goal.

Kane scored with a low drive from 30 yards out that Vicente Guaita misjudged, but Palace dominated the ball in the second half and forced home an equaliser after Lloris dropped Eberechi Eze’s free-kick at the hands of Schlupp.

Guaita made some outstanding saves in the first-half to deny Spurs before his mistake, and did so again when he saved Eric Dier’s free-kick with a stunning save in the dying minutes., as well as saving Kane’s close-range header. Ben Davies also hit the bar as Jose Mourinho’s side piled on the pressure.

Stats

The match was Spurs’ 22nd competitive game of the season, and they are now unbeaten in 11 league games – since the opening day. They are unbeaten in their last nine away games in the Premier League

Schlupp’s goal was the first Spurs have conceded in the Premier League since the start of November.

Kane’s goal was his ninth this season in the Premier League.

Liverpool miss chance to go top

Liverpool had the chance to go top of the table but drew 1-1 with Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were outplayed for the majority of the first half, and fell behind when Bobby Decordova Reid lashed home a shot past Alisson.

The Liverpool goalkeeper also made some vital saves to deny Ivan Cavaleiro in the first half.

After half-time, Liverpool began to dominate and equalised via a penalty from Mohamed Salah after a handball by Aboubakar Kamara.

Stats

Liverpool missed the chance to go top and are level on points with Spurs, behind the London club on goal difference. They host Spurs on Wednesday evening at Anfield.

The Merseyside club have now conceded 12 goals away from home and not won in their last five games.

Despite the draw and encouraging performance, Fulham have been overtaken by Burnley in the table and have eight points from 12 games. They have taken four points from their last three games, against Leicester, Man City and Liverpool.

Other results

The Manchester derby ended goalless at Old Trafford as Man United drew with Man City. The result keeps United a point ahead of City in the table.

Southampton moved up to fourth as they beat struggling Sheffield United 3-0. Che Adams, Stuart Armstrong and Nathan Redmond were the goal-scorers.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side have lost just once in their last 10 games while the Blades have one point from 12 games and have not won in their last 15 league games, dating back to last season.

James Maddison scored twice as Leicester won 3-0 against Brighton to climb up to third, while Aston Villa scored a late penalty to beat Wolves in a feisty match that saw both sides have a man sent off.
