Cavani rescues United
Edinson Cavani inspired a second-half comeback as Man United came back from 2-0 down to beat Southampton at St Marys.
The Uruguayan striker came off the bench at half time to score twice and assist another as United won their eighth consecutive away match in the Premier League โ breaking a club record.
The match
United missed chances in the first half and were punished as Southampton scored twice from set-pieces. James Ward-Prowse set up a Jan Bednarek header from a corner in the 23rd minute and he scored a pinpoint free-kick ten minutes later.
The 33-year-old crossed for Bruno Fernandes to score his seventh league goal of the season just before the hour-mark. Cavani then scored with a diving header past Alex McCarthy when he diverted Fernandesโs shot into the net.
