Bayern drop points
Bayern Munich drew 1-1 to Werder Bremen at the Allianz Arena in a surprising result in the Bundesliga.
The match
After Manuel Neuer made some important saves in the first half, Bremen went ahead on the stroke of half-time when Joshua Sargent turned Javi Martinez and crossed for Maximilian Eggestein, who guided his shot into the far corner.

Bayern nearly equalised when Douglas Costa’s dipping deflected shot came off the the bar, but eventually found a leveller when Kingsley Coman headed in at the back post in the 62nd minute.

Both sides had chances to win but the champions’ run of five successive league wins and 11 in all competitions came to an end with the draw.
The 1-1 result means Werder have drawn their last five Bundesliga games, all by a 1-1 scoreline. The draw also ends a run of 22 wins in a row for Bayern against Werder Bremen.

Leipzig also draw
RB Leipzig also drew, 1-1 against Eintracht Frankfurt. Julian Nagelsmann’s side could’ve gone level on points with Bayern if they won but had to settle for a point which leaves them fourth in the table.

It is still their best ever start to a season, with five wins, 17 points and just five goals conceded.
The match
Aymen Barkok capitalised on confusion in the Leipzig defence to put the hosts ahead two minutes before half time.
Half time substitute Yussuf Poulsen equalised with a deft finish in the 57th minute, guiding Angelino’s cross into the top corner. It was his third league goal of the season.
Eintracht have now drawn four of their last five Bundesliga matches.
Leverkusen up to third
Unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen took advantage of Leipzig’s draw as they jumped up to third with a late winner giving them a 2-1 victory against Arminia Bielefeld.

Leon Bailey gave Peter Bosz’s side the lead in the 27th minute, playing a one-two with Florian Wirtz and blasting the ball past Stefan Ortega. Wirtz has four assists this season for Leverkusen, only Thomas Muller and Max Kruse have more (5).
Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky had an embarrassing moment, slicing the ball into his own net to make it 1-1.
However, Aleksandar Dragovic spared his goalkeeper’s blushes by scoring in the 88th minute to give the visitors their fifth straight win in the Bundesliga. It was his first Bundesliga goal since December 2018.
Other results
Only Leverkusen and Wolfsburg remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga this season. Wolfsburg beat bottom of the table Schalke 2-0 to move up to sixth in the league.
Elsewhere, a hat-trick from Jean- Philippe Mateta gave Mainz their first win of the season, beating Freiburg 3-1.

Hoffenheim drew 3-3 with Stuttgart with Marc-Oliver Kempf scoring in stoppage time to give the promoted side a precious draw. On-loan Tottenham player Ryan Sessegnon scored his first goal in the Bundesliga for Hoffenheim.
