Leipzig lose first Bundesliga game
RB Leipzig were knocked off the top of the Bundesliga as they were beaten 1-0 by Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.
Hannes Wolf, who is on loan from Leipzig, scored his first Bundesliga goal on the hour mark to hand Julian Nagelsmann’s side their first defeat of the season.

The defeat also ended Leipzig’s nine game unbeaten run away from home, and pushed Gladbach up to fourth in the table on 11 points – two points behind Leizpig in third.
It was Leipzig’s first loss to Gladbach in their history, after five wins and three draws in their previous meetings.
Bayern top again
Bayern Munich won 2-1 at Köln to move to the top of the Bundesliga table.
Without the rested Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller took over the penalty duties and gave Bayern the lead in the 14th minute.
It was the German’s 122nd Bundesliga goal, which meant he went above Miroslav Klose and Lothar Matthäus on Bayern’s list of all-time top-flight scorers.

Serge Gnabry doubled their lead just before half-time but Dominick Drexler made the final minutes interesting when he scored in the 82nd minute.
Köln have not won in the league since March while Bayern have scored 24 goals after six league matches – a Bundesliga record.
Hummels at the double
Former Bayern Munich player Mats Hummels scored twice in the second half to give Lucien Favre’s side a comfortable 2-0 away win at Arminia Bielefeld.
Dortmund were without the injured Erling Haaland and, despite having 73% of the ball, they struggled to break down the hosts in the first half.
Hummels scored in the 53rd minute, tapping home from Jadon Sancho’s corner and then heading in from Marco Reus’ corner in the 71st minute.

It was only Dortmund’s third away win at the SchücoArena in 18 visits. Statistically, they have the best defence in the Bundesliga with five clean sheets and only two goals conceded.

Bayern are above Borussia Dortmund on goal difference with both sides on 15 points after six games. They face each other next week in ‘Der Klassiker’.
22 games without a win for Schalke
Schalke took the lead for the first time this season through Malick Thiaw’s header but were unable to end their winning drought as they drew 1-1 against Stuttgart.

Stuttgart equalised through a Nicolas Rodriguez spot-kick in the 56th minute. It is now 22 matches without a win for Schalke, who are 17th with two points from six games, while promoted Stuttgart are 8th with nine points.
