Hoffenheim face Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga on Saturday at the Rhein-Neckar Arena. Both sides are on six points after three fixtures, with Dortmund ahead on goal difference.

Dortmund news

Dortmund thumped Freiburg 4-0 before the international break with youngster Giovanni Reyna grabbing three assists and Erling Haaland scoring twice.

The Yellow and Black outfit opened their campaign with a 3-0 win against Borussia Monchengladbach, but were beaten 2-0 by Augsburg in their second match. Lucien Favre’s side dominated possession and territory against Augsburg, having 80% of the ball and 18 shots but they could not break through.

Hoffenheim made good start

Hoffenheim have started the season in strong attacking form, beating Bayern Munich 4-1 in week two of the season. They suffered a 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt just before the international break. Sebastian Hoeneß’s side have won five of their last six Bundesliga matches.

Kramaric goes for more goals

Forward Andrej Kramarić is the leading goal-scorer in the Bundesliga with six goals. He has scored in all three games this season, including a hat-trick against Cologne on the opening day and two goals against Bayern Munich. The Croat has scored 11 in his last five Bundesliga games, following on from last season.

Head-to-head

Hoffenheim are unbeaten in their last five games against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. The hosts came back from a goal down to beat Dortmund with Kramaric scoring the winner. At the Signal Iduna Park, on the final day of the season, Hoffenheim won 4-0 with Kramaric scoring all four goals.

Team news

Hoffenheim defenders Ermin Bicakvic, Havard Nordtveit and Kostas Stafylidis are all ruled out. Lucien Favre should be able to welcome back Jadon Sancho after he missed the win against Freiburg. However, Thorgan Hazard, Marcel Schmelzer and Dan-Axel Zagadou are all set to miss the game for Dortmund.
